1. Local-First Philosophy

Web IDE is designed with a local-first philosophy. We do not require you to create an account, register an email address, or provide any personal identification to use the core features of the editor. Your work stays on your device.

2. Data Collection & Usage

As a guest-only service, we minimize data collection to the absolute essentials required for service delivery:

  • Local Storage: Your project files, code, and app settings are stored locally on your device's filesystem. We do not have access to these files unless you use external export tools.
  • Anonymous Telemetry: We may collect basic, non-identifiable usage patterns (e.g., which features are opened) to improve app performance. This data cannot be linked back to you.
  • AI Interaction: When using the AI Assistant, code snippets are transmitted securely to our AI providers to generate suggestions. These snippets are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently by us.

3. Subscription Privacy

Pro subscriptions are handled entirely through the Apple App Store infrastructure. Web IDE does not store your credit card information, billing address, or purchase history on its own servers. Your subscription status is verified using anonymized receipts provided by Apple.

4. Security of Your Code

We believe your code is your private intellectual property. By storing data locally, we eliminate the risks associated with centralized cloud databases. When using the optional cloud sync, data is end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that only your authorized devices can read the content.

5. Third-Party AI Providers

Our AI capabilities are powered by industry-standard LLM providers. Our enterprise agreements with these providers ensure that any code transmitted for processing is never used to train their public models and is deleted after the suggestion is generated.

6. Children's Privacy

Because we do not collect personal information, emails, or profiles, Web IDE is inherently safer for all users. We do not knowingly target or collect data from children under the age of 13.

7. Updates to this Policy

We may refine this policy as we add new local-first features. Any changes will be posted here with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the app without an account constitutes acceptance of these privacy standards.
